(f) Running Man Targets with single or dual targets for engaging moving targets.
3. Bullet Traps. With more than 80 years of live fire range experience, Meggitt Training Systems is recognized
as an expert in ballistic containment. We are aware that every range project presents its own unique set of circumstances
that must be considered when selecting the appropriate bullet containment system. Identifying the shooting activities to be
conducted and the type of weapons and ammunition to be used will influence the type of bullet trap that is acceptable.
Along with these factors, the environmental performance of the bullet trap must be assessed to ensure long term range
sustainability and mitigation of lead hazards. bullet trap which captured rounds largely intact, with minimal potential for
richochet, reduced potential for generation of lead dust (from smashing rounds) and and very low impact noise. Different
Options available are:-
(a) Granulated Rubber Bullet Trap (b) Rubber Lamella Trap
(c) Steel Bullet Traps (d) Escalator Bullet Trap
(e) 5000E Steel Rifle Bullet Trap (f) Venetian Blind Bullet Trap
4. Shooting Stalls.
(a) Shooting stalls organize the firing line into defined shooting positions and furnish protection from
adjacent shooting positions by minimizing side-blast interference and the hazard of misdirected shots. They also
provide a location for mounting individual shooter controls for target systems and complementary range systems.
Acoustical blast shields and hinged shooting barricades are provided with some models and are always available
as add-on options.
(b) Meggitt Training Systems full-view shooting stall features a clear ballistic panel divider that provides the
rangemaster with an unobstructed view of the firing line. This is particularly important in ranges when the
instructor must monitor and observe the shooting activity at the firing line.
(c) Every shooting stall is equipped with a shelf that provides a muzzle rest to support handguns with
muzzle pointed downrange, and a recessed tray area for holding ammunition. The shelf can be dropped out of
the way for prone shooting and tactical movements. A removable spent brass receptacle on the stall helps keep
the firing line area clear of debris.
5. Ballistic Baffles & Acoustics.
(a) It is paramount that projectiles fired on a range are safely contained within the boundaries of the range.
Meggitt Training Systems designs baffles and guards to contain misdirected shots within the range and maintain
ballistic integrity. They serve to protect against the injury of people and property damage, minimize ricochet
threats, and to contain or redirect bullets to a safe path of travel by closing off the paths that may allow shots to
escape. Each device has its own particular function in a range and its placement and design must be engineered
specific to the range. In addition, Meggitt Training Systems can recommend structural considerations that will
enhance ballistic integrity and noise attenuation.
(b) The two primary noise considerations in a shooting range are the sound level within and noise
transmission outside the range. The sound produced by gunfire is deafening outdoors, but when the acoustical
energy it produces is confined to an indoor space as in a firing range, it gets even louder. Acoustical treatment of
exposed walls, overhead baffles and safety ceilings, and the range floor, changes the surfaces from reflective
to absorptive and significantly reduces the noise level in the range. Meggitt Training Systems acoustical
applications are specifically designed to absorb the loud reverberation of indoor gunfire and decrease the sound
level within the range and reduce noise transmission outside of the range.
(c) The Standard Rubber Paver (SRP) floor covering provides ballistic protection from errant rounds striking
concrete floors. A bullet striking concrete will normally produce backsplatter and may be dangerously redirected
to the shooting area. A round hitting the SRP flooring will be stopped and contained inside the rubber material.
(d) Treating the floor with SRP provides other benefits as well. The pavers help reduce noise transmission
in the range as they are shock and noise absorbent. The SRP panels will not deteriorate, can be used in either
indoor or outdoor locations and are slip resistant.
(e) SRP panels come in various sizes and thicknesses and are installed by simply laying them down on top
of the existing concrete floor. The panels are lightweight and can be easily picked up and relocated if desired.
6. Range Control Systems.
(a) Meggitt Training Systems revolutionized range operations by developing a range control system that
allows range officers to leave the control room while still retaining complete control of the range.
RangeMaster™10K control system combines touch screen technology and wireless communication to give range
officers unprecedented control from any location in the range.
(b) Handheld personal digital assistants (PDAs) and tablet personal computers provide the portability to
allow range operators full automation of the range while interacting with the shooters at the line. With
RangeMaster™10K, range operators are no longer confined to a control room so more time can be devoted to
firearms instruction rather than range management.
(c) RangeMaster™10K is intuitive and easy to operate. It provides unprecedented control over firing ranges
through wireless communication and touch screen technology.
(d) When portability is not a requirement, RangeMaster™ 9000 provides a state-of-the art range control
system for targetry, security systems, and range lighting. The RangeMaster™ 9000 is a menu-driven, Windows®
based computer system that puts total control of the range at your fingertips.
(e) Individual target control units located at each firing position receive, store, and execute programs sent
from the master control of RangeMaster™ 9000 or RangeMaster™10K systems. Target commands can be
entered manually into the individual control or a preprogrammed scenario can be run giving shooters independent
control of their lane.
7. SHOTT House (Shoot House for Optimized Tactical Training). More than a shoot house - an integrated

8. Infantry Target/ Small Arms Systems.
(a) Meggitt Training Systems is a world leader in military ground targetry, including complete urban
operations training networks, sophisticated range control systems, and static and dynamic armor and infantry
targets. Our deployable infantry and armor targets can be installed on unimproved terrain, in a matter of minutes,
with no special equipment required. These deployable systems provide the full gamut of range training capability
and the added flexibility of being portable.
(b) With more than 30,000 infantry target systems successfully fielded, Meggitt Training Systems small
arms targets are proven to be reliable and flexible to support both skills qualifications training events and more
complex unit collective training events. Whether on the MPMG range at Fort Carson or the 7th US Army's MRF
range in Germany, Meggitt Training Systems infantry targets adapt to different range environments,
infrastructures, and operational constraints.
(c) To enhance realism, Meggitt Training Systems infantry targets initiate simulators such as a muzzle flash,
MILES® Laser Target Interface (LTID), and sound effects simulator. Available in either AC or DC powered
versions, the Moving Infantry Target (MIT) and Stationary Infantry Target (SIT) can be operated through radio
frequency, hardwire, or Ethernet controls which allows great flexibility in range design and usage.
(d) Part of the future resides in bringing capability to the trainer as opposed to forcing units onto a specific
range with predictable target patterns and scenarios. Meggitt Training Systems newest infantry target, the
Rotating Stationary Infantry Target (RSIT) offers maximum flexibility in MOUT and specialty training scenarios. The
RSIT has the unique ability to expose from multiple angles with a friend or foe target. It can respond to shooter
actions or a pre-programmed scenario, ensuring that the trainees do not anticipate target actions, and providing a
realistic environment for MOUT and specialized training.
9. Armor Systems.
(a) The Stationary Armor Target (SAT) and Moving Armor Target (MAT) simulate a tank or other vehicle for
live fire training and qualification programs. These target systems support training in detecting, identifying and
firing upon stationary and moving tank targets under simulated combat conditions.
(b) Meggitt Training Systems armor target systems are designed and constructed to withstand the rigors
and abuse of training in near-combat conditions under all weather conditions. Mechanisms and simulators are
built with steel enclosures, connectors are military grade, and electronics are securely mounted within the target
actuator unit. With over 450 MATs and 3,000 SATs in place and operating in military installations worldwide,
Meggitt Training Systems armor target systems are field-proven to be reliable and adaptable to all climates and
environmental conditions.
(c) Capable of evasive movement, the MAT can be commanded to change speed or travel direction, and
raise or lower a full scale T-72 flank target while stopped or in transport at any point on the course. Our series of
Moving Armor Target systems support Tank Gunnery Table 8 and 12 and include two deployable systems that
are in compliance with the ATS specification.
(d) Meggitt Training Systems line of armor training systems includes two models of Stationary Armor
Targets. One model is capable of lifting a full-size T-72 frontal target and the other has the capacity to lift a
full-scale flank target. Both SAT models are available in DC or AC power options and have three communication
options including Ethernet, radio (RF) or hardwire (HW).
(e) Meggitt Training Systems Moving Armor Target and Stationary Armor Target systems interface and
synchronize with the Armor Target Kill Simulator/Gun Fire Simulator (ATKS/GUFS) device and MILES Laser
Target Interface Device (LTID).
10. Range Control Systems.
(a) philosophy of Meggitt Training Systems is that range operation should never be inhibited by
shortcomings in the control system. It is for this reason that a number of options are available for legacy as well
as current and future cabled and radio-controlled ranges.
(b) For computer controlled ranges, Meggitt uses its RangeMaster™ 9000 (RM9K) family of devices.
RangeMaster™ is a Microsoft Windows® based software application developed by Meggitt. RangeMaster™
controls targetry, simulators and other accessories for small arms and armor range systems. Most target
commands are entered with a simple click of the mouse or selected from drop-down menus. Scenarios can be
written directly on the RangeMaster computer or on any other computer using common word processing
software. Target status, hit results and report generation are all available.
(c) On traditional ranges with a control tower, the RM9K installation is typically a desktop computer with an
accompanying adapter for cable or radio controlled application. The system also supports ranges using a
combination of both radio and cable controlled targetry. On ranges where security is an issue when the range is
vacant, a laptop computer can be employed and the laptop secured when not in use. Meggitt also offers a
ruggedized laptop computer control package to allow range control from a vehicle or temporary location.
(d) Meggitt radio controlled targets and simulators can also be controlled by a line of purpose-built portable,
hand-held controllers. They allow programmed scenario preparation and execution as well as manual control of
the targets. Hit results and target status are also available to the operator.
(e) Based on the exceptional performance of the new RangeMaster™ 10K (RM10K) for law enforcement
range control, Meggitt is completing a version for military ranges. The RM10K will be available in PDA or Tablet PC
form. The RM10K will have all of the functionality of the RM9K, but with greater portability. The RM10K will be
capable of being added to allow control of a range using an existing RM9K from anywhere on the range or
provided for new installations of radio or cabled ranges.
10. Military Operations On Urbanized Terrain (MOUT).
(a) Meggitt Training Systems continues to evolve its family of target devices to satisfy the increased
training requirement for fighting in training in urban and built-up areas. Featuring portability, flexible control
methods and multiple power configurations, Meggitt Training Systems has equipped numerous Military Operations
On Urbanized Terrain (MOUT) facilities from Alaska to Louisiana
(b) The centerpiece of the products available for MOUT training is the Target Lifting Device (TLD). The TLD
utilizes a hit-sensing, full sized human form target (HFT) to provide the ultimate in realism. The HFT is available in
male, female and child sizes to simulate persons likely to be encountered on the battlefield. Depending on dress
and attached props, such as weapons or non-threat items, the TLD can represent a hostile, neutral or friendly
subject.
(c) Ease of reconfiguration assures the user that the TLD will give maximum flexibility for his investment.
For example, the TLD can be used inside a structure, receiving power from electrical mains and being controlled
by a wired network. That same device can then be taken outside to an area where AC power is not readily
available, connected to a battery and controlled over a wireless network. The TLD can be configured to pop-up a
target, or swing a target in or out of view, such as in a doorway, window or the side of a building or tree.
Another configuration allows a TLD to be suspended in a confined area, falling when shot. The HFT will score
hits from paint ball, SESAMS, SRTA or ball ammunition. MILES adaptors are also available for the HFT.
(d) The MOUT training area can be supplemented by other target devices from Meggitt Training Systems.
These include the Stationary Infantry Target, Moving Infantry Target, Stationary Armor Target and the Moving
Armor Target. All devices work with AC or DC power and are controlled through wired or wireless networks or
any combination of power and control. Control systems are based on desktop or laptop computers and portable,
hand-held controllers.
